Description
This polyurethane protective matting for shipboard heliports, is unique. It has been designed to provide a temporary covering for teak and other deck coverings that are easily marked, or those that require added protection from any potential damage caused by helicopter skids or wheels. The matting can be manufactured with cut-outs for existing deck furniture, such as existing heliport lighting and/or deck-fitted helicopter tie-down points.
Being a temporary solution for covering shipboard heliports, permanent, industrial and unsightly heliport coverings are no longer required. The matting is 17 mm thick and was designed with an easy ‘lay down & remove’ principle. The mat does not occupy space on the deck. It is fully removable and can be replaced in minutes, even if the weather is not favourable.
Due to its high quality and durability, the mat protects all deck surfaces, including teak. It is anti-skid, resistant to seawater, oil and common chemicals. In view of the fact that the resistance also depends on the nature of the application, the period of exposure, the concentration, temperature and action time, we recommend that you always carry out a chemical resistance test beforehand.
The matting is coloured all the way through. Even the heliport’s white ‘H’ is not painted, it is coloured during the production process. All items are fully custom made to each client’s requirements.
