Description
Ice Melt XM granules are a slow dissolving prill that reacts with ice to melt it in-situ, to promote easy removal. It can also be laid prior, to prevent ice forming. It outperforms more traditional treatments, such as salt and calcium chloride.
The granules perform rapidly and effectively to de-ice frozen surfaces, immediately upon contact, by releasing energy in the form of heat. The granules can also be used as a preventative measure against frost, ice and snow, by application prior to the onset of wintery conditions. Unlike more traditional de-icing measures, Ice Melt XM granules are long-lasting and retain their ability to work, for up to 36 hours after application. Effective down to -10oC, the granules work via a dual action, from the top down and the bottom up, to melt ice.
Ice Melt XM is salt-free and non-corrosive; it is free from salt, filler and grit. It is also environmentally friendly, being biodegradable, non-toxic and safe for children, animals, plants and the environment.* In addition, it is economical to apply, being up to 10 times more effective than rock salt; only a small amount of granules are required to ensure rapid thawing. The granules are easy to apply, evenly over the surface, and it leaves no white ‘track’ marks, that are apparent with salt-based products.
The product must be stored where it will be kept well-sealed and dry. It will keep between seasons if it is stored in an air-tight container or tub. It can be spread, using one of our broadcast spreaders: wheeled (HPT-07076) or handheld (HPT-07077).

The product is available in single bags or re-sealable buckets of 10 kg or 25 kg or on pallets.
