Description
Yacht-Star is a portable, lightweight and versatile heliport lighting system, suitable for use on shipboard heliports, onshore, temporary landing sites and in emergency situations. This version consists of 7 lights and 1 MLC, stored in a waterproof charging case. Each light and MLC are IP65 rated and fitted with rubber soled stainless steel base for stability and weighted to ensure stability under the toughest rotor downwash conditions. The system is also available with 8 lights and no MLC (HPT-07033).
The lights feature White, Green, Blue and Red visible and Infra-Red (IR) LEDs. Colours, intensities, and a variety of flash patterns are pre-programmed and user selectable. A key feature of the light system is the ability to combine both visible and IR LEDs at the same time ensuring NVG (Night Vision Goggle) and non-NVG visibility.
The Mobile Lighting Controller (MLC) enables a pilot to operate and control the lights, from the cockpit. The system incorporates UHF transceivers for wireless control of groups of lights at a range of 50m using an optional wireless Key Fob Controller, or at ranges in excess of 10km (VHF line of sight) using the MLC. The MLC is configured (e.g. setting VHF frequency), managed and may be controlled via a UHF wireless link from a PC or laptop (not supplied), running the Systems Management Software (included). The system incorporates a light detector which can be operated in 2 ways. In ‘Normal’ mode, the lights can be switched on/off, solely controlled by the magnetic or wireless switches. In ‘Sunset’ mode, the lights will switch on automatically at sunset and switch off at sunrise.
