Description
This advanced and multifunctional helmet provides cranial, eye and hearing protection for Helicopter Landing Officers (HLO), for use either onboard shipboard heliports or at remote landing sites, ashore.
Designed by Maritime Aviation, these HLO ‘talking helmets’ are made bespoke for each client and are guaranteed to work ‘out of the box’ with existing portable Icom A25 Airband VHF radios. Built around an MSA F2XR vented helmet, these helmets come with 1 ear cup fitted with a Press-to-Transmit (PTT) button, connected to the Airband radio, to enable smooth communications between the HLO, Bridge and helicopter pilot(s).
The standard helmet comes in high visibility yellow, with HLO identifying stickers (if available). This makes the HLO highly visible to the pilot and other crew/passengers; it differentiates the HLO from the Heliport Deck Assistants (HDAs), in our blue HDA helmets (COM-0131). Other colours are available, on request.
This helmet is compatible with Icom Airband radios. Other radio options are available – please contact us for more information.
