Description
These adjustable & retractable, multi-function heliport lights contain combined perimeter, deck-edge & helicopter service lights. When retracted, they do not cause an obstacle for personnel walking on the deck. These lights offer an elegant and minimalistic design, with no visible screws, and will fit optimally into any ambitious heliport layout.
The light unit combines three different functions to illuminate the flight deck in the best possible way:
- Perimeter light: Aimed at providing light from approx. 0° (horizontal) upwards with a characteristic along CAP 437 requirements for perimeter lights
- Deck floodlight: Equipped with a downward-directed light beam to illuminate only the shipboard heliport; it is also available in a very limited horizontal angle of not more than 10°, to illuminate particular deck markings
- Helicopter service light (optional): Used after landing to illuminate the helicopter for service, refuelling and crew/passenger boarding
The light comes as standard with multi-sensor electronics, measuring multiple modes of operation, detecting an upcoming malfunction before the light might fail. Alternatively for retro-fits, the lights can also be operated by customer-supplied (existing) control systems, with a simple on/off functionality. Any mode of installation is possible, such as welding, bolting and gluing, both from above and below the deck.
