Description
These retractable, dual-function heliport lights contain combined perimeter and deck-edge lights. When activated, the lights will pop up pneumatically from the deck; when retracted, they are completely flush with the deck and do not cause an obstacle for personnel walking on the deck, thereby making the heliport suitable for alternative uses, such as recreational activities. The lights offer an elegant and minimalistic design, with no visible screws, and will fit optimally into any ambitious heliport layout.
The light unit combines two different functions:
- Perimeter light: Provides visibility of approx. 2 nm from 0° (horizontal) to approx. 20°
- Deck edge light: Provides >20° elevation, with low, dazzle free light intensity
The light comes as standard with multi-sensor electronics, measuring multiple modes of operation, detecting an upcoming malfunction before the light might fail. Alternatively for retro-fits, the lights can also be operated by customer-supplied (existing) control systems, with a simple on/off functionality. Any mode of installation is possible, such as welding, bolting and gluing, both from above and below the deck. The top plate can be adapted to match the surrounding deck materials, e. g. by teak inlays.
